Consider the meaning of a word as you work with the shape, size, spacing, and placement of its shape.
This rough, first sketch may evolve into a layout where the left shapes resemble books on a shelf. The books can double as sections; clicking on the words takes users to different areas of the bookshop. Sub pages use less space for navigation and include incorporate the book theme into their submenus.
Angular, diagonal lines form the shape of this theme as well as the shape of the text. In the next example, text happens to be a word, although it appears more a part of the design than the site's content or navigation. Without the words, the triangle shape communicates something different, but with the word, the strength of the shape surpasses different, to become amazing. This concept can evolve to a layout with content in the central portion a simple navigation on the right. The theme of triangles, diagonal lines, and lines as text can run throughout the site, changing as the content needs change.

In the next example, both the language of the text and its placement communicate a kind of confusion and takes the user by surprise. The goal is for the user to ask, "huh?" Organizing the words so that they all lead to the center brings the focal point around and in. This theme can transition to a layout where a simple logo or graphic in the center acts as a link to sub pages. Text and line at off angles can be incorporated into the theme throughout the site.
